This data was compiled from the Chicago Public Schools data. The CPS website offers a breakdown of the statistics and overview of each CPS school. When comparing selective enrollment and neighborhood high school graduation rates, nine schools were selected from each category [selective or neighborhood] and the average taken from each category was then compared to a school in the other category.
Based on the data provided, the average graduation rate for selective enrollment high school students is 89.8% compared to the neighborhood high school student graduation rate of 67.8%.
